DESCRIPTION<br />
Vapor Emission Control (VEC) – The notation VEC is assigned to indicate that an oil carrier is fitted<br />
with a vapor emission control system; and that <strong>the</strong> system is in accordance with <strong>the</strong> applicable<br />
requirements <strong>of</strong> 5C-1-7/21 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels for this notation<br />
Vapor Emission Control-Lightering (VEC-L) – The notation VEC-L is assigned to indicate that an<br />
oil carrier is fitted with a vapor emission control system that is also suitable for use during lightering<br />
operations; and that <strong>the</strong> system is in accordance with <strong>the</strong> applicable requirements <strong>of</strong> 5C-1-7/21 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels for this notation.<br />
