DESCRIPTION
The Automatic Side Loading pallet handling System notation ASLS indicates that a refrigerated
cargo vessel is fitted with a system whereby the cargo is loaded into and unloaded from a refrigerated
hold through an automatic side loading pallet handling system together with a monitoring and control
system; and that the arrangements are in accordance with the applicable requirements of Part 6,
Chapter 2 of the ABS Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels, or.
The Semi-Automatic Side Loading pallet handling System notation SASLS indicates that a
refrigerated cargo vessel is fitted with a system whereby the cargo is loaded into and unloaded from a
refrigerated hold through a semi-automatic side loading pallet handling system together with a
monitoring and control system; and that the arrangements are in accordance with the applicable
requirements of Part 6, Chapter 2 of the ABS Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels.
