Ice Breaker<br />

DESCRIPTION<br />

This notation is assigned to a vessel designed and constructed for breaking ice to open navigable<br />

channels for o<strong>the</strong>r ships. The classification notation Ice Breaker is to be assigned to vessels <strong>of</strong> Ice<br />

<strong>Class</strong>es A2 through A5 built to <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> Part 6, Chapter 1 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building<br />

and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels.<br />
