DESCRIPTION<br />

This notation is assigned to a vessel that is designed and constructed primarily for <strong>the</strong> carriage <strong>of</strong><br />

containers in holds or on deck or both, with structures for that purpose, such as cell guides, pedestals,<br />

etc. The <strong>ABS</strong> vessel type notation Container Carrier forms part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> classification designation<br />

assigned to vessels built in accordance with <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> Part 5C, Chapter 5 or 6 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong><br />

Rules for Building and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels.<br />
