Ore or Oil Carrier<br />
DESCRIPTION<br />
An Ore or Oil Carrier is a vessel having two longitudinal bulkheads and a double bottom throughout<br />
<strong>the</strong> cargo area, constructed for <strong>the</strong> carriage <strong>of</strong> ore cargoes in <strong>the</strong> center holds or for <strong>the</strong> carriage <strong>of</strong> oil<br />
cargoes in <strong>the</strong> center holds and wing tanks. The <strong>ABS</strong> vessel type notation Ore or Oil Carrier is<br />
assigned to a vessel built in accordance with <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> Part 5C, Chapters 1 and 3 or Chapters 2<br />
and 4 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels.<br />
