LAID UP<br />

DESCRIPTION<br />

This additional notation is assigned to vessels that are lay-up in compliance with Appendix 7-A-3<br />

“Guide for Lay-Up and for Reactivation <strong>of</strong> Laid-up Ships” <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Survey After<br />

Construction (Part 7) and drilling units that are lay-up in compliance with <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Guide for Lay-Up<br />

and Reactivation <strong>of</strong> Laid-up Mobile Offshore Drilling Units The notation allows for <strong>the</strong> vessel’s<br />

surveys falling due during lay-up to be held in abeyance until <strong>the</strong> vessel reactivates, at which time<br />

<strong>the</strong>y are to be brought up-to-date.<br />
