Oil or Bulk/Ore (OBO) Carrier<br />

DESCRIPTION<br />

An Oil or Bulk/Ore (OBO) Carrier is a single deck vessel <strong>of</strong> double skin construction, with a<br />

double bottom, lower and upper wing tanks, (hopper and topside tanks) intended for carriage <strong>of</strong> oil or<br />

dry cargoes including ore in bulk. The <strong>ABS</strong> vessel type notation Oil or Bulk/Ore (OBO) Carrier is<br />

assigned to a vessel built in accordance with <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> Part 5C, Chapters 1 and 3 or Chapters<br />

2 and 4 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>ABS</strong> Rules for Building and <strong>Class</strong>ing Steel Vessels.<br />
