I-What did QIWG-QAO achieve in 2006
• Strategy 9:
Introduce and develop a culture of quality in public
health, service delivery and their management through
the use of the Ministry of Health (MoH) quality
standards.
• Strategy 10:
Develop and implement minimum and optimum quality
standards for the public and private sectors
incorporating pro-poor and gender issues through
established structures and use of appropriate tools.
II-Achievements
• Assure over-all coordination and monitoring of the
implementation of QA strategies included in the HSSP
2003-2007 and priority activities identified in the Joint
Annual Performance Review.
• Assure that the development and implementation of
standards, guidelines and tools based on MoH priorities,
including capability-building support.
• Assist in the development and testing of a national
licensing and accreditation system for public and private
health facilities according to the agreed priorities.

• Ensure availability and accessibility of resource materials
related to quality assurance, in coordination with the MoH
library and NIPH and website;More realistic timeline of 5
years was clarified.
• Conduct performance monitoring activities in pilot areas
and facilitate implementation of remedial actions for
performance gaps;
• Provide technical and administrative support to the
Hospital Management/Reform Working Group;

• Facilitate the formulation of Cambodian QA policy and
regulatory framework, in collaboration with key
stakeholders
• Recommend strategies and identify TA needs for the
continuous enhancements of systems, policies and
procedures pertaining to quality assurance
