Challenges
• The GMAG has not been well recognized
due to the fact that gender seems "new
word" to health personnel
• Members have limited time due to their own
core work at their respective departments
and programmes
• Limited capacity of some members
• Limited financial support
Recommendations
• Consideration of gender issues and involvement of
GMAG in the development of the health sector
strategic plan 2008 – 2010
• Inclusion of gender equity and activities into
institution's strategies, policies, AoPs and
integration of gender issues/activities into the
MoH's reports
• Capacity building of the GMAG members
• Gender sensitization for health personnel
• Technical and financial support
