through the imitation of selected passages and the writing of various<br />

Survey of literary trends from the beginning of the 19th century<br />

Taught in seminar mode, this course is the study of the historical<br />

and cultural background of early France from prehistoric times to<br />

Study of the geography and cultures of the French-speaking<br />

Contemporary overview of Irish language, syntax, and grammar<br />

with materials selected for exploring Irish culture. Emphasis on<br />

development of student autonomy in Irish, especially in speaking<br />

and writing. Laboratory work required.<br />

IRL 202 Adv. Interm. Irish Language II (3)<br />

Continuation of contemporary overview of Irish language,<br />

syntax, and grammar with materials selected for exploring Irish<br />

culture. Emphasis on development of student autonomy in Irish,<br />
