TYPE: ORDINANCE SUBMITTED BY: ADMINISTRATION DATE: 06-25-2012
DESCRIPTION: CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER
TO IMPLEMENT TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS - EAGLE PARK (DISTRICT 3)
BACKGROUND:
In 2011, the Village Council granted Site Plan approval for the remodeling of Eagle Pool and
its related facilities. The reconfigured pool layout resulted in an increase in parking spaces
from 51 to 61.
KEY ISSUES:
To address neighborhood parking issues during the pool's initial months of operation, it may
be necessary to install temporary parking restrictions (prohibiting parking, creating time limits,
etc.). To allow for greater flexibility and timely response, it is recommended that the Village
Manager be authorized to establish temporary parking restrictions rather than requiring
Council approval.
The proposed area in which the Village Manager may establish temporary parking restrictions
would be limited to:
• Oak Street (between Dundee Road and Home Avenue);
• Garden Avenue (between Oak Street and Del Mar Drive);
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Approve the ordinance authorizing the Village Manager to implement temporary parking
restrictions through September 3, 2012.
2. Refer back to Staff with comments.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of an ordinance authorizing the Village Manager to implement
temporary parking restrictions through September 3, 2012.
ACTION REQUIRED:
A motion to approve an ordinance authorizing the Village Manager to implement temporary
parking restrictions within the defined area through September 3, 2012.
