DESCRIPTION: CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE DECREASING THE NUMBER OF
CLASS B LIQUOR LICENSES BY ONE, JJ PEPPERS, 44 W. ILLINOIS AVENUE, AND
DECREASING THE NUMBER OF CLASS P LIQUOR LICENSES BY ONE, ON
OCCASION CATERING, 1276 E. DUNDEE ROAD DISTRICTS 2 AND 5

BACKGROUND: The owner of On Occasion Catering, located at 1276 E. Dundee Road,
has relocated out of the Village and has not renewed their business or liquor licenses.
Also, the owner of JJ Peppers, located at 44 W. Illinois Avenue, does not wish to renew
the liquor license; however, the business will remain open.
KEY ISSUES: As On Occasion Catering is no longer in operation and JJ Peppers does
not wish to renew their liquor license, it is appropriate to remove the Class P (catering) and
Class B (package) liquor licenses from the Code. An ordinance has been prepared
reducing the number of Class P liquor licenses from 1 to 0 and reducing the number of
Class B liquor licenses from 15 to 14.
ALTERNATIVES: 1. Approve the ordinance
2. Do not approve the ordinance
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
BUDGET IMPACT: Class P liquor license annual fee - $103
Class B liquor license annual fee - $3,204
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion to approve the Ordinance reducing the number of Class P
liquor licenses from 1 to 0 and Class B liquor licenses from 15 to 14.
