Re: Dorchester &Revere Funding and Budget Impacts
As part of the CY 2012 budget, $332,000 of MFT funding was budgeted for the Street Rehab Program
(Revere Drive). Additionally, $31,134 in funds were included in the Resurfacing Program for the
widening and resurfacing of Dorchester. m Quentin to Crescent and Revere Lane from the cui de sac
to the west bubble.
As the design progressed it became clear that the budgeted amount was not going to be enough to
cover what needed to be done. Unforeseen items in the design included the following:
• Extensive drainage improvements are needed on both streets to improve the drainage and the
longevity of the road surface.
• Full curb and gutter removal is needed on Revere rather than just sectional replacement.
• Full pavement removal was expanded on Revere to accommodate the removal of the entire
existing pavement section.
FUNDING
• $332,000 budget for Revere
• $31 ,134 budget for Dorchester
2012 Savings in Street Program
• $138,982 Curb and Gutter Concrete Edging Extension Program
• $9,000 of MFT savings from the street resurfacing program
• $1,000 in the 50/50 curb and apron program remaining
$148,982 in savings have already been identified in the street program. It is proposed that $117,479 of
these savings be reallocated to complete the Revere/Dorchester project.
