9. MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING 9.5 Replacing the Battery The lithium battery in the terminal unit is used to backup system settings when the power is turned off. The life of this battery is about five years, however actual life depends on usage. When the battery is dead, the terminal unit automatically reverts to default system settings. When this occurs, contact your dealer to request replacement of the battery. Lithium Battery Name: BATT(MN-LI) Code No.: 000-144-941-10 Type: CR2450-F2ST2L 9.6 Replacing the Fuse The 15A fuse (for 12 VDC) or 7A fuse (for 24 VDC) in the power cable protects the equipment from overcurrent and reverse polarity. If the fuse blows, find out the case before replacing it. If it blows again after replacement, contact your dealer for advice. Be sure to use the correct fuse. Use of a wrong will damage the equipment and void the warranty. Use the proper fuse. CAUTION Use of a wrong fuse can result in damage to the equipment. 9. MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING 9.7 Error Messages This section describes the more commonly seen error messages and the means to restore normal operation. If normal operation cannot be restored, contact your dealer for advice. 9.7.1 Equipment trouble messages Messages in this category are prefixed with “TROUBLE:”. Equipment trouble messages Error Message Meaning Action ANT power voltage abnormality. Antenna power voltage. Have a licensed radiocommunications technician check the set. Carrier power level. DISTRESS ALERT UNIT Fault. DMC connection abnormality. Carrier power level too high or too low. Trouble at Distress Alert Unit/Received Call Unit IC-305. Trouble at Distress Message Controller DMC-5. Have a licensed radiocommunications technician check the set. Check that the IC-305 is powered and connected to the FELCOM. Check that the DMC-5 is powered and connected to the FELCOM. EEPROM ERROR. EEPROM trouble. Contact a FURUNO agent or dealer for advice. ALARM UNIT Fault. Invalid MES ID, This equipment is defected. Please contact FURUNO. Synthesizer UNLOCK. Trouble at Alarm Unit IC-306. MES ID is corrupted. Synthesizer unlock. Check that the IC-306 is powered and connected to the FELCOM. Have a licensed radiocommunications technician check the set.
