REMOVAL<br />

● Remove EX. pipe.<br />

● Remove the cylinder head cover.<br />

● Remove the cam shaft.<br />

● Remove cylinder head.<br />

● Remove the cam chain guide from the cylinder.<br />

● Remove cylinder<br />

CAM CHAIN GUIDE<br />

● Remove the gasket and dowel pin. Carefully remove<br />

any adhering gasket material from the cylinder / head<br />

mating surface. Do not scratch the surface.<br />

△! NOTE<br />

●Take care not to damage the cylinder mating surface.<br />

WEAR INSPECTION<br />

● Inspect the cylinder wall for scratches and wear.<br />

● Measure and record the cylinder inner diameter at three<br />

levels in both an X and Y axis.<br />

● Take the maximum reading to determine the cylinder<br />

wear.<br />

SERVICE LIMIT : 56.100 mm<br />

● Measure the piston outer diameter.<br />

● Calculate the piston-to-cylinder clearance. Take the<br />

maximum reading to determine the clearance.<br />

SERVICE LIMIT : 0.2 mm<br />

TOP<br />

MIDDLE<br />

BOTTOM<br />

● Calculate the cylinder for out-of-round at three levels in<br />

an X and Y axis. Take the maximum reading to<br />

determine the out-of-round.<br />

● Calculate the cylinder for taper at three levels in an X<br />

and Y axis. Take the maximum reading to determine<br />

the taper.<br />

● If any of the cylinder measurements exceed the <strong>service</strong><br />

limits, replace the cylinder.<br />

SERVICE LIMIT : OUT-OF-ROUND : 0.005 mm<br />

TAPER : 0.05 mm<br />
