Director’s biographies<br />
The directors and officers of <strong>NATS</strong> Holdings Limited who were serving as at the date of approval of the accounts were as follows:<br />
Chairman<br />
Executive directors<br />
Dr Paul Golby CBE<br />
Paul served as Chief Executive Officer<br />
of E.ON UK plc from 2002 to 2011,<br />
is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of<br />
Engineering and was appointed Pro-<br />
Chancellor and Chair of the Council for<br />
Aston University in 2009. He is also<br />
a non-executive director of National<br />
Grid plc. Paul chairs the Nomination<br />
Committee and is a member of the<br />
Audit Committee.<br />
Martin Rolfe, Chief Executive Officer<br />
Martin was appointed Managing<br />
Director, Operations in 2012, with<br />
responsibility for <strong>NATS</strong>’ economically<br />
regulated UK and North Atlantic<br />
services. An engineer by training,<br />
Martin holds a Master’s degree in<br />
Aerospace Systems Engineering from<br />
the University of Southampton. He<br />
has 20 years of experience in the<br />
defence and aerospace industry,<br />
and prior to joining <strong>NATS</strong> was the<br />
Managing Director of Lockheed<br />
Martin’s Civil Division with responsibility<br />
for worldwide Air Traffic Management<br />
programmes as well as UK government<br />
business. Martin has also worked for<br />
the European Space Agency and<br />
Logica plc.<br />
Nigel Fotherby, Finance Director<br />
Nigel joined <strong>NATS</strong> in 1999 as Finance<br />
Director and led the Finance team<br />
through the transition to Public<br />
Private Partnership (PPP) (2001)<br />
and, following the events of 9/11, the<br />
financial restructuring and refinancing<br />
of NERL in 2003. In addition to his<br />
responsibilities for finance, Nigel leads<br />
NERL’s economic regulatory team<br />
and represented the company in the<br />
economic regulator’s review of NERL’s<br />
charges for CP3 and RP2. Previously,<br />
he worked for Lex Service plc as<br />
Finance Director of its retail group<br />
and then for BT Cellnet, where he<br />
was Deputy Finance Director.<br />
He began his career with Coopers<br />
& Lybrand where he qualified as a<br />
Chartered Accountant.<br />
