NEW YORK UNIVERSITYThere are many clubs that students are able to participate in at <strong>Gallatin</strong>.They all <strong>of</strong>fer agreat way to become part <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Gallatin</strong> community and plan programs and activities thatsupport the overall mission <strong>of</strong> Student Life. Some <strong>of</strong> these clubs include Dancers ChoreographersAlliance (DCA), the <strong>Gallatin</strong> Business Club (GBC), <strong>Gallatin</strong> Cinema Society,<strong>Gallatin</strong> Theater Troupe (GTT), Gallatone, Journal <strong>of</strong> Global Affairs, <strong>Gallatin</strong> Society forthe Natural Sciences and NADI: Middle Eastern Studies Society.There are always opportunitiesfor students to create new clubs if there is interest in areas that the current clubsdo not meet.SPECIAL EVENTSWe host a variety <strong>of</strong> special events throughout the school year. Some highlights include:The <strong>Gallatin</strong> Arts Festival (GAF) provides a forum for community and networkingamong <strong>Gallatin</strong> arts students and others interested in supporting and promoting the arts.This is an annual showcase <strong>of</strong> student performances and art events that engages the <strong>Gallatin</strong>arts community in a yearlong endeavor. GAF is student organized and student runwith the support <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Gallatin</strong> Interdisciplinary Arts Program, a faculty artistic directorand faculty mentors.The Albert <strong>Gallatin</strong> Lectures bring a series <strong>of</strong> notable figures from the worlds <strong>of</strong> politics,the arts, business and academia to <strong>New</strong><strong>York</strong> <strong>University</strong> to discuss contemporary issueswith students, faculty and members <strong>of</strong> the wider community.The lectures are planned incollaboration with a student committee and usually take place once each semester.The <strong>Gallatin</strong> Film Series hosts film screenings throughout the year that explore arange <strong>of</strong> topics and areas <strong>of</strong> interest to the <strong>Gallatin</strong> student body.A different faculty memberselects and introduces each film and <strong>of</strong>ten leads a discussion after the screening.RESOURCESStudent Life SuiteThe Student Life Suite, located in Room 522 at the <strong>Gallatin</strong> <strong>School</strong>, is a comfortable areaopen to students for gathering, studying and relaxing between classes.The Office <strong>of</strong> StudentLife Office also provides the Suite as an event space for student clubsStudent Resource Fund<strong>Gallatin</strong> students can apply for the Student Resource Fund each year for projects that fostercommunity among students.
