Chapter 4 Remote Interface ReferenceUsing the APPLy Commandœ For arbitrary waveforms that you create and download to memory, the maximum frequency depends on the number of points specified inthe waveform. As shown below, the maximum output frequencydecreases as you specify more points in the waveform. The fivebuilt-in arbitrary waveforms can be output at a maximum of 5 MHz.Number of Arb Points8 to 8,192 (8k)8,193 to 12,287 (12k)12,288 to 16,000Minimum Frequency100 mHz100 mHz100 mHzMaximum Frequency5 MHz2.5 MHz200 kHzœ Possible Conflict with Function Change: The output frequency isautomatically adjusted if you select a function whose maximumfrequency is less than that of the currently active function. For example, if you output a 1 MHz sine wave and then change thefunction to triangle wave, the function generator will adjust theoutput to 100 kHz (the upper limit for triangle waves). From theremote interface, a -221, “Settings conflict” error is generated and thefrequency is adjusted.œ Possible Conflict with Duty Cycle (square wave only): For outputfrequencies above 5 MHz, the duty cycle is limited to values between40% and 60% (below 5 MHz, the range is 20% to 80%). The duty cycleis automatically adjusted if you select a frequency that is not validwith the present duty cycle. For example, if you set the duty cycle to70% and then change the frequency to 8 MHz, the function generatorwill automatically adjust the duty cycle to 60% (the upper limit forthis frequency). From the remote interface, a -221, “Settings conflict”error is generated and the duty cycle is adjusted.4139
