Chapter 4 Remote Interface ReferenceOutput Configuration CommandsVOLTage {|MINimum|MAXimum}Set the output amplitude for the currently active function. MIN selectsthe smallest amplitude allowed for the selected function (50 mVpp into50 ohms). MAX selects the largest amplitude allowed (10 Vpp into50 ohms). The default amplitude is 100 mVpp (into 50 ohms).[ Stored in volatile memory ]FunctionOutputTerminationMinimumAmplitudeMaximumAmplitudeSineSquareTriangleRampNoiseBuilt-In Arbs 150W50W50W50W50W50W50 mVpp50 mVpp50 mVpp50 mVpp50 mVpp50 mVpp10 Vpp10 Vpp10 Vpp10 Vpp10 Vpp10 VppSineSquareTriangleRampNoiseBuilt-In Arbs 1Open CircuitOpen CircuitOpen CircuitOpen CircuitOpen CircuitOpen Circuit100 mVpp100 mVpp100 mVpp100 mVpp100 mVpp100 mVpp20 Vpp20 Vpp20 Vpp20 Vpp20 Vpp20 Vpp1 There are five built-in arbitrary waveforms stored in non-volatile memory:sinc, negative ramp, exponential rise, exponential fall, and cardiac.œ For arbitrary waveforms, the maximum amplitude will be limited ifthe data points do not span the full range of the output DAC (Digitalto-AnalogConverter). For example, the built-in “SINC” waveform doesnot use the full range of values between –1 and therefore itsmaximum amplitude is 6.084 Vpp (into 50 ohms).œ You can set the units for output amplitude to Vpp, Vrms, or dBm.See the VOLT:UNIT command for more information.œ For dc volts, the output level is actually controlled by setting theoffset voltage. You can set the dc voltage to any value between –5 Vdcinto 50 ohms or –10 Vdc into an open circuit. See the VOLT:OFFScommand for more information.148
