(<strong>Manual</strong>transmission only)• Press the CANCEL button.Traction Control System(TCS)*The Traction Control System (TCS)enhances traction and safety by regulatingengine torque and breaking. When theTCS detects driving wheel slippage, itlowers engine torque and operates thebrakes to prevent loss of traction. This means that on a slick surface, theengine adjusts automatically to provideoptimum power to the drive wheelswithout causing them to spin and losetraction.WARNINGThe system is off when the ignition is off.NOTECruise control will cancel at about15 km/h (9 mph) below the presetspeed or below 30 km/h (19 mph).TCS and Unsafe Driving:The traction control system (TCS)cannot compensate for unsafe andreckless driving, excessive speed, tailgating (following another vehicletoo closely), and hydroplaning(reduced tire friction and roadcontact because of water on the roadsurface). You can still have anaccident. So don’t rely on the tractioncontrol system as a substitute for safedriving.TCS and Snow and Ice:Driving without proper tractiondevices on snow and ice-coveredroads is dangerous. The tractioncontrol system (TCS) alone cannotprovide adequate traction and youcould still have an accident. Use snowtires or tire chains and drive atreduced speeds when roads arecovered with ice and snow.5-20*Some models.Form No. 8R65-EA-03C
