It goes offwhen the parking brake is fully released.Low brake fluid level warning/Electronic brake force distributionsystem warningIf the light stays on after the parking brakeis fully released, you may have a brakeproblem.Drive to the side of the road and park offthe right-of-way.Low brake fluid level warningYou may notice that the pedal is harder topush or that it may go closer to the floor.In either case, it will take longer to stopthe vehicle.1. With the engine stopped, check thebrake fluid level immediately and addfluid as required (page 8-14).2. After adding fluid, check the lightagain.If the warning light remains on, or if thebrakes do not operate properly, do notdrive the vehicle. Have it towed to anAuthorized <strong>Mazda</strong> Dealer.Even if the light goes off, have your brakesystem inspected as soon as possible.Electronic brake force distributionsystem warningIf the electronic brake force distributioncontrol unit determines that somecomponents are operating incorrectly, thecontrol unit may turn the brake systemwarning light on.In this case, the ABS warning light comeson at the same time (page 5-40).WARNINGBrake Warning Light:Driving with the brake systemwarning light on is dangerous. Itindicates that your brakes may notwork at all or that they couldcompletely fail at any time. If thislight remains on, after checking thatthe parking brake is released, havethe brakes inspected immediately.Don’t drive with this light on, andcontact an Authorized <strong>Mazda</strong> Dealerto have the brakes inspected as soonas possible.5-37Form No. 8R65-EA-03C
