Warm up the engine to normaloperating temperature.3. Turn it off and wait 5 minutes for theoil to return to the oil pan.4. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, andreinsert it fully.FullOKLow5. Pull it out again and examine the level.It’s OK between L and F.But if it’s near or below L, add enoughoil to bring the level to F.CAUTIONDon’t add engine oil over F. This maycause engine damage.▼ Changing Engine Oil and FilterChange engine oil and filter according toScheduled Maintenance (page 8-3).Please act responsibly—protect theenvironment and take used oil to arecycling facility. Ask your dealer or aservice station for information.Changing engine oilWARNINGHandling Used Engine Oil:Continuous contact with used engineoil is dangerous. It could cause skincancer. Always wash with soap andwater immediately after changing oiland filter.WARNINGChecking or Changing Engine Oil:Hot engine oil is dangerous. If theengine has been running, the engineoil becomes very hot. You could beseriously burned.
