AKD Installation | 3 Approvals3.1 Conformance with UL/cULThis drive is listed under UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) file number E141084 Vol.3 Sec.5.USL, CNL – Power conversion equipment (NMMS, NMMS7) – Models AKD followed by B,P,S,M or F, followedby 003, 006, 012, and 024, followed by 06 or 07, followed by additional suffixes.UL-certified drives fulfil the relevant U.S. and Canadian standards (in this case UL 840 and UL 508C). Thesestandards describe the fulfillment by design of minimum requirements for electrically operated power conversionequipment, such as frequency converters and drives, which is intended to eliminate the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, being caused by such equipment. The technical conformance with thestandards is determined by an independent UL inspector through the type testing and regular checkups.UL 508C describes the fulfillment by design of minimum requirements for electrically-operated power conversionequipment, such as frequency converters and drives. This standard is intended to eliminate the risk offire being caused by this equipment. UL 840 describes the fulfillment by design of air and insulation creepagespacings for electrical equipment and printed circuit boards.3.1.1 UL Markings• These drives are open type adjustable frequency motor drives that provide variable speed control tomotors and provides overload protection and current limit control.• These devices are intended to be used in a pollution degree 2 environment.• Identification of the terminals on the controller are coded so they may be identified in the instructions. The instructions shall identify power connections for power supply, load, control, and ground.• Integral solid state short circuit protection does not provide branch circuit protection. Branch circuit protectionmust be provided in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any additional localcodes, or the equivalent.• This product is suitable for use on a circuit capable of delivering not more than 200,000 rms symmetricalamperes, ## volts maximum, when protected by ” Fuses", or equivelant.• The following fuse types are recommended:Model Fuse class Rating Max.
