AKD Installation | 8 Electrical Installation8.11.3.3 Motor Connector X2 with shielding connectionAlternative connection for the motor power connection by mating connector with strain relief.Strip the external cable sheath to a length ofapprox. 120 mm, taking care not to damage thebraided shield. Push the braided shield (1) backover the cable and secure with a rubber sleeve (2)or shrink sleeve.Shorten all the wires apart from the protectiveearth (PE) wire (green/yellow) by about 20 mm sothat the PE wire is now the longest wire. Strip allwires and fit wire end ferrules.Secure the braided shield of the cable to theshroud with a cable tie (3) and use a second tie (4)to fasten the cable over the rubber sleeve.Wire the connector as shown in the connection diagram.Plug in the connector to the socket on thefront of the .Screw the connector in place. This ensures thatthere is conductive contact over a large surfacearea between the braided shield and the frontpanel.Kollmorgen | December 2009 85
