Therefore, poor overburdenmanagement was observed. However, the proprietorreported that the waste materials were being lifted bycontractors for road filling works.There is good vegetation around the quarry.106

However, the quarry is in operation without therenewed environmental clearance.The national highway is affected by the quarry.There is an adverse visual impact.The culvert along the highway was found blocked by thewaste material from the quarry.The approved waste dump was not utilized.Materials were extracted from areas which were notdesignated in the FMFS Report.Stone crusher was installed and operated withoutenvironmental clearance.1.42 RecommendationThe management has to expedite the renewal of the environmental clearance.The management should ensure that the quarry is operated strictly as per the FMFS report,EMP and environmental clearance at all times.There is a need to expedite the development of proper benches.The management should ensure that the highway is not affected by the quarry at all times.In order to do so, there is a need to construct appropriate size of retaining/breast wall abovethe highway to avoid waste materials getting into the highway and blocking the culvert.The management should obtain separate environmental clearance for the operation of stonequarry.The management should ensure minimizing the visual impact since the quarry is justabove/adjacent to the highway.107
