Since the work environment is verydusty, there is a need to enhance the provision of safety andpersonal protective gears.First-aid-kit is made available at the site office.Water and sanitation facilities provided. However, some of the overburdens are found directlyrolled down into a gully which is not an approved dumpsite.Some of the overburdens/interburdens have rolled downwhile development of access road.89 meter length of dry wall has been constructed as checkdam at the overburden dump site.Since the work is still at the development stage, there are noproper mining benches and pit slopes maintained.The management has not carried out monitoring of air,water and noise at the mining site.A stream at the base of the mine has been affected byboulders rolled down during the development works.The mine area has thin vegetation comprising of grasses and76

Others The mine has employed a total of 39 people out of which 25of them are non-national.1.28 RecommendationThe management should ensure that the mine is operated strictly as per the FMFS report,EMP and environmental clearance at all times.The only check dam constructed of dry wall is found filled up. The management shouldimmediately plan for construction of another check dam.It is recommended to spray water at least twice a day in the mine and along the approachroad.The management should construct appropriate toilet and provide water supply for thelabourers at the mine.77
