Appendices15. Place used rags into an asbestos waste bag or waste container (as outlinedin 10 above).16. Once all tiles, adhesive and waste have been placed in waste bags/containersand all tools have been cleaned, begin the personal decontamination process.17. Clean the disposable coveralls and respirator while still wearing them. Overallscan be cleaned using a HEPA vacuum, damp rag or fine water spray and therespirator can be cleaned with a wet rag or cloth.18. Whilst still wearing the respirator, remove coveralls, turning them inside-outto entrap any remaining contamination and then place them into an asbestoswaste bag.19. Remove the respirator. If a non-disposable respirator was used, inspect it toensure it is free from contamination, clean it with a wet rag if necessary, thenstore in a container. Disposable respirators do not require cleaning. They needto be placed into an asbestos waste bag or waste container dedicated forasbestos waste.20. Ensure all used rags are placed into waste bags.21. Ensure all waste bags are goose-necked, the exterior cleaned then doublebagged and all waste containers are sealed. Place them all into a securestorage facility or transport vehicle for disposal.22. Perform a visual clearance to ensure that there is no visible asbestos residue– for removal over ten square metres, a clearance certificate from anindependent person is required.23. Transport the waste in accordance with EPA Victoria requirements.24.
