Place the waste <strong>in</strong>to a 200 micron plastic waste bag or suitable alternate wasteconta<strong>in</strong>er dedicated for <strong>asbestos</strong> waste that is clearly labelled with anappropriate warn<strong>in</strong>g sign <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>asbestos</strong> waste.15. Ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> regular checks on the negative air unit, decontam<strong>in</strong>ation unit (andhot water service), compressor (if used), enclosure, signs and barricades andsupplies of personal protective equipment throughout the removal (refer toan example of a log <strong>in</strong> Appendix G).16. Ensure employees decontam<strong>in</strong>ate at every break, us<strong>in</strong>g the decontam<strong>in</strong>ationunit, when exit<strong>in</strong>g the enclosure.17. Ensure monitor<strong>in</strong>g results are obta<strong>in</strong>ed and conveyed to all employees.18. Ensure bagged waste is secure on site and disposed of as soon as possible.19. Ensure all waste bags are goose-necked, the exterior cleaned then doublebagged and all waste conta<strong>in</strong>ers are sealed. Place them all <strong>in</strong>to a securestorage facility or transport vehicle for disposal.20. Thoroughly wet-wipe and/or vacuum the area until the removal is regardedas completed (by the removalist). Visually <strong>in</strong>spect the area to ensure it issatisfactorily clean, then arrange for an <strong>in</strong>dependent (competent) person,such as a hygienist, to visually <strong>in</strong>spect the area.21. If the visual <strong>in</strong>spection is satisfactory, the area needs to be sprayed with PVA(<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>terior of the plastic).22. Decontam<strong>in</strong>ate or dispose of as <strong>asbestos</strong> waste all tools and equipment used.Otherwise, used tools and equipment may be bagged prior to removal from theenclosure – only to be opened <strong>in</strong> another enclosure, removal area or similarlycontrolled environment.23. After the PVA has been applied and has dried, clearance monitor<strong>in</strong>g needsto take place.24. If the air monitor<strong>in</strong>g result is found to be less than 0.01 f/ml, the enclosuremay be dismantled and disposed of as <strong>asbestos</strong> waste.25. This area needs to be thoroughly visually <strong>in</strong>spected for any residual ACM.Further clearance monitor<strong>in</strong>g needs to take place after the enclosure hasbeen removed.26. Once all visual <strong>in</strong>spections and clearance monitor<strong>in</strong>g is satisfactorily completed,signs and barricades (such as hoard<strong>in</strong>g) can be removed.27. Transport the waste <strong>in</strong> accordance with EPA <strong>Victoria</strong> requirements.28. Dispose of the waste bags and conta<strong>in</strong>ers at a site licensed by the EPA <strong>Victoria</strong>to accept waste <strong>asbestos</strong>.29.
