Appendices13. Ensure waste bags are not filled more than half full to assist with seal<strong>in</strong>gand to avoid bag tears.14. Clean the entire area us<strong>in</strong>g damp rags and/or an <strong>in</strong>dustrial vacuum cleanerfitted with a HEPA filter.15. Use damp rags to clean the equipment that was used for remov<strong>in</strong>g the ACM.16. Place used rags <strong>in</strong>to an <strong>asbestos</strong> waste bag or waste conta<strong>in</strong>er (as outl<strong>in</strong>ed<strong>in</strong> item 12).17. Once all ACM and waste has been placed <strong>in</strong> waste bags and/or a l<strong>in</strong>ed skipand all tools have been cleaned, beg<strong>in</strong> the personal decontam<strong>in</strong>ation process.18. Clean the disposable coveralls and respirator while still wear<strong>in</strong>g them. Coverallscan be cleaned us<strong>in</strong>g a HEPA vacuum, damp rag or f<strong>in</strong>e water spray and therespirator can be cleaned with a wet rag or cloth.19. While still wear<strong>in</strong>g the respirator, remove coveralls, turn<strong>in</strong>g them <strong>in</strong>side-outto entrap any rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g contam<strong>in</strong>ation and then place them <strong>in</strong>to an <strong>asbestos</strong>waste bag.20. Remove the respirator. If a non-disposable respirator was used, <strong>in</strong>spect it toensure it is free from contam<strong>in</strong>ation, clean it with a wet rag if necessary, thenstore <strong>in</strong> a conta<strong>in</strong>er. Disposable respirators do not require clean<strong>in</strong>g. They needto be placed <strong>in</strong>to an <strong>asbestos</strong> waste bag or waste conta<strong>in</strong>er dedicated for<strong>asbestos</strong> waste.21. Ensure all used rags are placed <strong>in</strong>to waste bags.22. Ensure all waste bags are goose-necked, the exterior cleaned then doublebagged and all waste conta<strong>in</strong>ers are sealed. Place them all <strong>in</strong>to a securestorage facility or transport vehicle for disposal.23. Perform a visual clearance to ensure that there is no visible <strong>asbestos</strong> residue.A clearance certificate from an <strong>in</strong>dependent person is required for non-friableACM greater than 10 square metres <strong>in</strong> total (and for all friable ACM removalwork).24. Transport the waste <strong>in</strong> accordance with EPA <strong>Victoria</strong> requirements.25.
