Standard’s Text Pre-described Finding PDFcodeability to speak and understand the language used forradiotelephony communications to the level specifiedin the language proficiency requirements in Appendix1.A1-APP 1 General:To meet the language proficiency requirementscontained inChapter 1, Section 1.2.9, an applicant for a licence ora licence holder shall demonstrate, in a manneracceptable to the licensing authority, compliance withthe holistic descriptors at Section 2 and with the ICAOOperational Level (Level 4) of the ICAO LanguageProficiency Rating Scale in Attachment A.A1-5.1.1.2 The following details shall appear on the licence:I) Name of State (in bold type);II) Title of licence (in very bold type);III) Serial number of the licence, in Arabic numerals,given by the authority issuing the licence;IV) Name of holder in full (in Roman alphabet also ifscript of national language is other than Roman);IVa) Date of birth;V) Address of holder if desired by the State;VI) Nationality of holder;VII) Signature of holder;VIII) Authority and, where necessary, conditionsunder which the licence is issued;IX) Certification concerning validity and authorizationfor holder to exercise privileges appropriate to licence;X) Signature of officer issuing the licence and the dateof such issue;XI) Seal or stamp of authority issuing the licence;XII) Ratings, e.g. category, class, type of aircraft,airframe, aerodrome control, etc.;XIII) Remarks, i.e. special endorsements relating tolimitations and endorsements for privileges, includingfrom 5 March 2008 an endorsement of languageproficiency, and other information required inpursuance to Article 39 of the Chicago Convention;XIV) Any other details desired by the State issuing the(and no corrective action planfiled by the licensing State toICAO).Instructions forcompleting the detaileddescriptionco-pilot) and / or ELPlevel, if available<strong>SAFA</strong> Coordination Section Page 96 of 217© European Aviation Safety Agency, 2012 V 2.0
