Akitchen, which is intended for use as a dining area also, shall have a floor area of notless than 7.5 square Meters with a minimum width of 2.1 Meters.(3) Other requirements - Every room to be used as kitchen shall have.-(a)(b)(c)(d)unless separately provided in a pantry, means for the washing ofkitchen utensils which shall lead directly or thorough a sink to a gratedand trapped connection to the waste pipe:an impermeable floor;A flue, if found necessary; anda window or ventilator or opening of size not less than as specified innote 3 of sub-rule (3) of rule 80.68. Bathroom and Water Closets (1) Height.- The height of a bathroom or watercloset measured from the surface of the floor to the lowest point in the ceiling (bottomof slab) shall not be less than 2.2 Meters.(2) Size (i) The size of a bathroom shall not be less than 1.5 square Meters. The floorarea of water closet shall be 1.1 square Meters with a minimum width of 0.9 meter. Ifbath and water closet are combined, its floor area shall not be less than 2.4 squareMeters with a minimum width of 1.2 Meters. The area of W.C. with wash basin shallnot be less than 1.3 square Meters;(ii)(a)(b)(c)(d)In case of special Housing Scheme referred to in rule 66(3) (ii), thesizes of bathrooms/water closets shall be as follows:-Independent water closet – 1.1m X 0.9 meter.Independent bathroom – 1.3m X 1.1 meter.combined bathroom and closet–2.0 square Meters width minimum widthof 1.1 Meters.Water closet with wash basin.– 1.3 square Meters.(3) Other requirements. - Every bathroom or water closet shall.–(a)(b)(c)(d)be so situated that at least one of its walls shall open to external air;not be directly over or under any room other than another water closet,washing place, bath or terrace, unless it has a water tight floor;have the platform or seat made of watertight non-absorbent material;be enclosed by wall or partitions and the surface of every such wall orpartitions shall be finished with a smooth impervious material to aheight of not less than 1 meter above the floor of such a room;69
