M.P.Bhumi Vikas Niyam, <strong>1984</strong>(iv) Educational buildings-up to 24 m in height 1.5 Metersmore than 24 m in height2.0 Meters(v) Institutional buildings-up to 10 beds 1.5 Metersmore than 10 beds2.0 Meters(vi) All other buildings 1.5 Meters(3) The landing width shall be a minimum of twice the staircase width plus 15centimeters.(4) Minimum Tread-The minimum width of tread without nosing shall be 25centimeters for residential buildings. The minimum width of tread for otherbuildings shall be 30 centimeter.(5) Maximum Riser-The maximum height of risers shall be 17 centimeters forresidential buildings and 15 centimeters for other buildings and these shall belimited to 15 numbers per flight.(6) Head Room-The minimum head-room in a passage under the landing of astaircase shall be 2.2 Meters. The minimum clear head-room in any staircaseshall be 2.2 Meters.78. Roofs- (1) The roof of a building shall be so constructed or framed as to permiteffectual drainage of the rain water there from by means 0f sufficient rain-water pipesof adequate size, whenever required, so arranged. Jointed and fixed as to ensure thatthe rain-water is carried away from the building without causing dampness in any partof the walls or foundations of the building or those of an adjacent building.(2) The Authority may require rain-water pipes to be connected to a drain or sewerto a covered channel formed beneath the public footpath to connect the rainwaterpipe to the road gutter or in any other approved manner.(3) Rain-water pipes shall be affixed to the outside of the external walls of thebuilding or in recesses or chases cut or formed in such external walls or insuch other manner as may be approved by the Authority.* (4) Rain/Roof water harvesting method shall have to be provided on all type ofbuildings having plot size more than 140 Square meter as per the optionsmentioned in Appendix – "N".* Rule 78 (4) Substituted vide notification No.F-3-10-2001-XXXII,dt.26.8.06, Gazette, dt.8.9.06.75
