Ask participants to brainstorm as a group all the services in thelocal area that are part of the care and support continuum forpeople living with HIV. Trainer’s resource 8.1 will give the facilitatoran idea of services that are usually available. Add on to theparticipant list any items that were overlooked. Assign a colourdot/ number to each type of service delivery point on the list.Adherence to Treatment for HIV117
Section 82. Participants will now draw a map of the services they have in theirrespective districts/taluka. Ask participants to draw of map of theirgeographic area (district/taluka) and indicate the important cities,towns, villages, blocks etc. Draw a demonstration map as you givethese instructions. The map need not be perfect.3. Based on the information they have about the services available intheir area, ask participants to place the colour dot/number of eachtype of service delivery point (from the numbers assigned at theend of step 1) in the place(s) that service delivery point can befound in their district. For example: Write “12” near the town/citywhere an ART roll out centre is located. Repeat the same processfor all types of services available in their area.Facilitator’s Guide4Adherence to Treatment for HIV4. The participants should now be encouraged to repeat this exercisewith participants from the neighbouring district, as they may haveto refer people to services in other districts.5. The facilitator will now ask each question in Trainer’s resource ‘A’8.1. Allow the participants a chance to respond to each question,based on their experiences with HIV/AIDS services. Afterparticipants respond, provide any additional information ifnecessary.118
