Ask the group to consider the advantages and disadvantages ofdisclosing one’s status. Have them list the advantages on one sideof a flip chart and the disadvantages on another.4. Explain that we want to encourage people to disclose their statusif they feel comfortable doing so because of the advantagesmentioned. We also want to make sure a person’s status is notdisclosed if they do not want it to be because of the disadvantagesmentioned.5. Explain that to explore the concept of not accidentally disclosing aperson’s status for them, we will do an exercise called a “problemtree.” Divide the participants into three or four small groups. Eachgroup will be asked to draw a “problem tree” that looks atconfidentiality breaches.6. Provide the following instructions for the groups :• Draw one tree trunk in the middle of a flip chart and label it “NotKeeping Confidentiality.”• Ask the group to discuss some of the causes of why a peereducator would accidentally not keep the confidentialityof a PLWHA?
