The <strong>Facilitator</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> consists of:• Trainer’s Notes: provides instructions for the facilitator on how toconduct the sessions.• Trainer’s Resources: provides important technical information thatthe trainer will need to refer to before or during sessionsThe Participant Manual consists of:• Handouts: contain important technical information for the participantsto use as they participate in the sessions and also for them to referto later.• Participant’s Resources: contains important information about thetopics that are covered in the training program.The facilitator should tell the participants in advance on the firstday, that they would need to refer to the manual when askedto do so. <strong>Facilitator</strong>s must emphasize to the participants thatmost activities require that participants, while answering questionsposed by the facilitator, speak from their personal experiences.This makes the interaction and discussion lively and ensures learningof new facts.ABOUT THE FACILITATOR GUIDEThe <strong>Facilitator</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> is organized into sections coinciding with thefour-day training program. Each day focuses on one or more specificthemes mentioned in the manual as ‘Sections’. The sections arelinked to one another so as to make a logical sequence. Each sectionconsists of a series of ‘Sessions’ that cover different aspects of thesection’s theme. Each session begins with objectives followed bysuggested time allotted for that session, instruction on preparationto conduct the session and then detailed step-by-step instructionsfor the facilitators to conduct the session.
