The median age of 46 days was higherthan that reported in Denmark (39 days) and the Netherlands(40 days) (3,14). The occurrence of a substantial proportion(17%) of HPeV3 infections in infants >3 months ofage was consistent with results from a US study reporting18% of cases in infants >60 days of age but contrary toother data indicating that HPeV3 infection occurs almostexclusively in infants
