12. In case of rectt. Bypromotion/deputation/transfer, grades from whichpromotion/deputation/transfer to be made.PromotionPromotion will be made on selection basisthrough Departmental Competitive Exam.And assessment of performance andpotential over a reasonable period. AllAsstt. Manager (Civil) possessing degree/diploma in Civil Engineering with 7yrscontinuous service in the grade and whohave successfully completed the trainingcourses prescribed by the Company fromtime to time, shall be eligible to appear inthe Departmental Competitive Exam.Note : However, where the field becomes toolarge, covering an unduly wide range ofseniority, the Board may in its discretionrestrict the field of selection to ten times ofthe existing/anticipated vacancies.Transfer on deputation( including short term contract)Officers under the Central/StateGovernment/States Electricity Boards/Public Undertakings/ Semi-Govt./Statutoryor Autonomous organization holding postsof the rank of :-(a) (i) Executive Engineer orequivalent or(ii) Asstt. XEN or equivalent with 5yrs service in the grade or(iii) Asstt. Engineer or equivalent with7 yrs service in the grade and(b) Possessing the educationalqualification and experience laid downfor direct recruits under Column No.8.Note : The departmental officers in the feedercategory who are in the direct line ofpromotion will not be eligible forconsideration for appointment on deputation.Similarly deputationists shall not be eligiblefor consideration for appointment bypromotion.
