<strong>DTL</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>TA</strong>/<strong>DA</strong> <strong>Rules</strong>8.0 RELEASE OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE ON OFFICIAL TRAVELABROAD8.1 Consequent to the revision <strong>of</strong> per diem ceiling <strong>of</strong> DailyAllowance (<strong>DA</strong>) for <strong>of</strong>ficial visits abroad, w.e.f. 16 th August,1994 by RBI vide their circular dated 6 th August, 1994, a threetier rate <strong>of</strong> <strong>DA</strong> were introduced in November, 1994. Therevised approved rates for <strong>of</strong>ficial visits upto a duration <strong>of</strong>30 days are as follows.Sl. No LEVEL RATE(US $ PER <strong>DA</strong>Y)i) CMD/Functional Directors 500ii) For GMs 350iii) For DGM & below 300For period exceeding 30 days, 75% <strong>of</strong> the above rates shall beapplicable.8.2 The period <strong>of</strong> release <strong>of</strong> <strong>DA</strong> will be restricted to actualduration <strong>of</strong> the approved visit (excluding journey time butincluding intervening holidays). However, stopovers etc.incase <strong>of</strong> visits to more than one country during the foreigntour shall be duly considered based on the informationavailable/furnished while obtaining approval <strong>of</strong> theCompetent Authority.9.0 RELEASE OF EXCHANGE FOR OFFICIAL VISITS FORINTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES/ SEMINARS /WORKSHOPS9.1 The release <strong>of</strong> <strong>DA</strong> for attending international conferences/seminars / workshops is to be regulated on the same rates asper para 8.1(17)
