Latin American Studies<br />

Develop the professional skills and gain the<br />

knowledge necessary to es tablish a lasting<br />

and successful relationship with a public or<br />

private sector organization in Latin America<br />

and/or the US. Explore diverse areas<br />

of study related to the region, including<br />

anthropology, archaeology, art, dance, economics,<br />

film, geography, history, language,<br />

literature, mural ism, music, politics, and<br />

pop ular cultures.<br />

This concentration welcomes students with<br />

specific goals in the international field as well<br />

as those who would com plement this degree<br />

with a second major or minor, especially in<br />

technical areas: appropriate tech nol ogy,<br />

computers, natural resourc es, environmental<br />

studies, etc. Finally, this concentration<br />

provides the basic foun da tions for graduate<br />

work in Latin Amer ican studies.<br />
