The Program<br />

This program prepares students for teaching<br />

subjects that are commonly taught<br />

in business-related subjects in the public<br />

schools. (For in for ma tion on pre lim inary and<br />

professional clear teaching cre den tials, see<br />

Education)<br />

Preparation<br />

High school students should follow preparation<br />

requirements for the CSU system.<br />

Community college students should take<br />

approved substitutes for lower division core<br />

courses. Community college courses may<br />

not be transferred to fulfill upper division<br />

core or elective requirements.<br />

Consult your community college advisor or<br />

contact the School of Business if you have<br />

questions about transfer credit for business<br />

courses.<br />

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR<br />

Please note: Degree requirements listed<br />

here do not include pro fes sion al education<br />

courses required for admission to the<br />

credential program. Students earning this<br />

degree may waive CSET assess ments before<br />

entering the credential program. Before applying<br />

to the secondary education cre den tial<br />

pro gram, students must meet the prerequisite<br />

of 45 hours early field ex per ience or<br />

enroll in SED 210/SED 410.<br />

Students must earn a minimum grade of<br />

C- in all required courses.<br />

Demonstrate keyboarding skill by touch at<br />

a professional level of speed and accu racy<br />

with correct technique.<br />
