The Program<br />
Learn to manage rangeland eco sys tems<br />
wisely. Study forage, timber, wild life, rec reation,<br />
watersheds, and their inter rela tionships.<br />
Classroom instruction is enhanced by the<br />
uni ver sity’s plant and animal nutrition laboratories.<br />
<strong>Humboldt</strong> also has a range herbarium.<br />
Nearby privately owned ranch es and<br />
federal lands offer excel lent opportunities<br />
for field study.<br />
Potential careers: range conservationist,<br />
biological technician, range man ager, environmental<br />
specialist, agricultural inspector,<br />
lands specialist, soil conservationist<br />
or soil scientist, range consul tant, natural<br />
resources specialist, water shed man ager,<br />
or ecosystem restoration specialist.<br />
Preparation<br />
In high school take courses in bi ol ogy, chemistry,<br />
mathematics, and earth sciences.<br />
