COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS IN NMR: A. Pines, University of Califomia,
Berkeley, CA 94720
Topics for discussion will be selected from among the following:
1. Quantum phase of the photon and its relevance to magnetic resonance.
2. Multiple-pulse NMR in zero field.
3. Zero field NMR studies of small local asymmetries.
4. 2-Dimensional studies of molecular conformations in liquid crystals.
5. Clustering of molecules in zeolites studied by Xenon and multiple-quantum NMR.
6. Detection of quadrupole resonance by a SQUID detector at low temperature.
7. Iterative spin decoupling schemes for solids.
8. High-temperature NMR of silicate glasses and liquids.
Some of these projects are carried out in collaboration with M.V. Berry
(Physics, Bristol); J. Clarke (Physics, Berkeley); J. Fraissard (Chemistry, Paris); J.
Guckenheimer (Mathematics, Cornell); C.J. Radke (Chemical Engineering, Berkeley)
and J. Stebbins (Geology, Stanford).
