SESSION DESCRIPTION
Advances in technology and communications have made telementoring an important part of training, knowledge
and skill acquisition, collaboration, and outreach. This session focuses on technical logistics, real life practices, and
emerging technologies that utilize telementoring to train, mentor, and coach in the global arena.
SESSION OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
• Recognize the technical requirements needed to implement a telementoring program
• Compare how various technologies are being used today for telementoring different types of surgical procedures
globally
• Identify new technology that is being developed to improve telementoring and distance learning in the future
