SESSION DESCRIPTION<br />

The laparoscopic adjustable gastric band was a popular operation that is associated with a significant incidence of<br />

complications and weight loss failures requiring revision. A laparoscopic revision from laparoscopic gastric band to<br />

gastric bypass is an operation that should be part of the bariatric surgeon’s armentarium. Recognized experts in the<br />

field will use video to demonstrate technical tips and tricks to help you better perform this procedure.<br />

SESSION OBJECTIVES<br />

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:<br />

• Distinguish between different indications for laparoscpic band revision to gastric bypass<br />

• Illustrate several surgical techniques for lap band to gastric bypass surgery<br />

• Develop surgical strategies to allow surgeons to safely perform this operation and trouble-shoot when necessary<br />
