SESSION DESCRIPTION
The laparoscopic adjustable gastric band was a popular operation that is associated with a significant incidence of
complications and weight loss failures requiring revision. A laparoscopic revision from laparoscopic gastric band to
gastric bypass is an operation that should be part of the bariatric surgeon’s armentarium. Recognized experts in the
field will use video to demonstrate technical tips and tricks to help you better perform this procedure.
SESSION OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
• Distinguish between different indications for laparoscpic band revision to gastric bypass
• Illustrate several surgical techniques for lap band to gastric bypass surgery
• Develop surgical strategies to allow surgeons to safely perform this operation and trouble-shoot when necessary
