SESSION DESCRIPTION<br />

Given the rapid pace of technological advances, pancreatic surgery is a field in constant evolution. This session will<br />

focus on contemporary approaches to pancreatic surgery as well as how the next generation is trained to practice in<br />

this domain. The session spans themes in the care of pancreatitis, cancer, techniques and training and is relevant for<br />

all levels of surgeons from medical students to attending surgeons in practice.<br />

SESSION OBJECTIVES<br />

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:<br />

• Recognize state-of-the-art themes in minimally invasive pancreatic surgery<br />

• Discriminate various approaches for the management of complicated pancreatic necrosis<br />

• Assess the efficacy of Irreversible Electroporation for the treatment of pancreatic cancer<br />

• Distinguish various routes for advanced training in Pancreatic Surgery<br />
