SESSION DESCRIPTION<br />
In this innovative session, topics suggested and voted upon by <strong>SAGES</strong> members will be addressed by experts in<br />
the field with audience participation through the meeting app, social media, and live discussion. The focus will<br />
be on challenging and interesting problems in the management of reflux, achalasia, hypermotility disorders, and<br />
paraesophageal hernias.<br />
SESSION OBJECTIVES<br />
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:<br />
• Assess and manage patients with GERD who present with complex and challenging clinical scenarios such as<br />
obesity, recurrence, or concomitant motility disorders<br />
• Apply and integrate new treatment strategies and techniques such as POEM for achalasia or magnetic sphincter<br />
augmentation for GERD<br />
• Recognize and manage common and uncommon complications and side effects of anti-reflux and esophageal<br />
motility surgery<br />
