SESSION DESCRIPTION<br />

While congenital anomalies are largely repaired in childhood, some present in adult hood. Additionally, patients with<br />

complex congenital disorders increasingly survive to adulthood and transition into the adult system of surgical care.<br />

This session will focus on practical management of adults with congenital gastrointestinal disorders.<br />

SESSION OBJECTIVES<br />

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:<br />

• Predict potential complications related to prior repair of congenital anomalies<br />

• Manage the adult presentation, complications, and long-term consequences of congenital gastrointestinal anomalies<br />

• Organize a transition of care from pediatric to adult care for particularily complicated surgical patients<br />

This session features the latest and newest techniques and technologies in gastrointestinal and endoscopic<br />

surgery. The 2 hour session is addressed to surgeons searching for new technologies, to medical staff open to future<br />

perspectives and to industry partners investing research in new developments. Careful selection of abstracts featuring<br />

new research and products will assure that attendees can take away key messages tailored for the near future. The<br />

abstract submission deadline is in early <strong>2017</strong> to allow for late-breaking developments.<br />
