Capital expenditure totaled €648 million, of which €618<br />

million for generation plants. The main investments in<br />

<strong>2010</strong> regarded the continuation of work on thermal<br />

plants in the amount of €519 million (including the coal<br />

The mission of the Engineering and Innovation Division is<br />

to serve the Group by managing the engineering processes<br />

Revenues totaled €608 million in <strong>2010</strong>, down €295 million<br />

or 32.7% <strong>com</strong>pared with the previous year. This decline<br />

was essentially due to the following:<br />

> a €259 million decline in business with the Generation<br />

and Energy Management Division, related mainly to<br />

the coal conversion of the Torrevaldaliga Nord plant,<br />

which was largely <strong>com</strong>pleted in the 1st Half of <strong>2010</strong>;<br />

> a €109 million decline in business with E.ON España<br />

(formerly <strong>Enel</strong> Viesgo Generación) as a result of the<br />

<strong>com</strong>pletion of a number of activities regarding the development<br />

of thermal power plants in Spain;<br />

> a €32 million increase in business with the <strong>com</strong>panies
