TRANSLATION
One Vai�r:-ava known as Vyenkata Bhatta then invited Sri Caitanya
Mahaprabhu to his home with great respect.
PURPORT
Sri Vyer'lkata Bhatta was a Vai�l)ava brahmaQa and an inhabitant of Sri Rar'lga­
k�etra. He belonged to the disciplic succession of Sri Ramanujacarya Sri Rar'lga is
one of the places of pilgrimage in the province of Tamila-desa. The inhabitants of
that province do not retain the name Vyenkata. It is therefore supposed that
Vyenkata Bhatta did not belong to that province, although he may have been
residing there for a very long time. Vyer'lkata Bhana was in a branch of the
Ramanuja-sampradaya known as Ba9agala-i. He had a brother in the Ramanuja­
sampradaya known as Sripada Prabodhananda Sarasvati. The son of Vyer'lkata
Bhatta was later known in the Gau9Jya-sampradaya as Gopala Bhana Gosvami,
and he established the Radharamal)a temple in Vrndavana. More information

Narahari Cakravarti.
