dak�iQa-desa uddharite karena ei chala<br />

SYNONYMS<br />

visva-rupa-of VisvarOpa; siddhi-of perfection; prapti-achievement;<br />

janena-the Lord knows; saka/a-everything; dak�iQa-desa-South India; ud­<br />

dharite-just to liberate; karena-makes; ei-this; cha/a-pretense.<br />

TRANSLATION<br />

Knowing everything , Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was aware that Visvarupa<br />

had already passed away. A pretense of ignorance was necessary, however, so<br />

that He could go to South India and liberate the people there.<br />

suniya sabara mane haila maha-du/:lkha<br />

ni/:lsabda ha-ila, sabara sukaila mukha<br />

SYNONYMS<br />

suniya-hearing this; sabara-of all the devotees; mane-in the minds; hai/a­<br />

there was; maha-du/:lkha-great unhappiness; ni/:lsabda-silent; ha-i/a-be­<br />

came; sabara-of everyone; sukai/a-dried up; mukha-the faces.<br />

TRANSLATION<br />

Upon hearing this message from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, all the devotees<br />

became very unhappy and remained silent with sullen faces.<br />
